I use a utility called Free Hide Folder to secure important files. Unfortunately, I have accidentally uninstalled this utility before "unhiding" some of my files. All searches for the files and the folder containing the files have been futile. Re-installing the utility also did not help, but right-clicking on the drive that contains it shows that it is still there. It is just not visible/accessible.

Any ideas please.

Have you tried a LiveCD distro to try and pull the info off of it? You may need a USB thumbdrive to put the folders onto, and perhaps change their permissions.
