Hello again! Wondering if anyone can recommend a company or person that is competent in installing some gates for my house that will keep out unwelcome visitors? Chiang Mai / San Patong area. I need a 4Metre gate, single or double / lockable to prevent car access, but with a smaller date of maybe 1 metre (also lockable) but to allow people like postman Pat - awan to get through on his motorbike. It is basically clay so it will need some good digging and some concrete. The gates do not need to be the HiSo Chrome, just enough to keep cars out. I need someone that can put in strong foundations that do not sag, the gate material can be wood or steel it does not matter.

If anyone knows a decent Thai company that can do this sort of install, I'd be pleased to hear from you.

Thanks!

You do realise that gates alone don't keep people out, don't you?

After being burgled I put an 8 foot fence with barbed wire around the property, and security bars on all windows.

Just having a farang at an address probably makes it an attractive target.

From the OP - "to prevent car access"

The chain is the easiest, thanks! I need to leave access to Postman Patporn and his black and white snake, along with the water meter men and the Electric guys, just need to stop unwanted visitors at night. Thanks.

Do it on 1st of the month, that's a smaller date!

I believe you're getting blind, otherwise you would see that on the can is written 6% alcohol in Thailand. ????

Give a man a break! I am getting old and blind, my eyes are shot, I am typing in the light of a 5 Watt bulb with a Thai "Transparent" silicone keyboard protector in place, life under Covid is not easy, and life after a few cans of Red Horse is even more trying, for some reason it seems to provide a 1 or 2 key shift offset when typing, totally random though. I found that after drinking 5 bottles of Chang, you would often get a one or two key offset, usually to the right or left of the desired key ( Maybe the Germans could have used this as their Enigma Key) Red Horse however, being a rather cheeky little beer at 8% can randomly provide an offset of up to 3 keys in the X or Y axis, making a sentence toyp lally innlegible

There was / is a current thread running on gates, maybe electronic however the company I recommended  does every type of gate

Have a look

Thanks, but to be honest, the chain has done the trick. I just need a small hammer to crack a small minded idiot that thinks he can come on our land any time he thinks ("Think" is probably a bit over complicated) fit, (a relative- but not mine) - Anyway, no need to use a sledgehammer to crack a peanut.
