geovalin
Strong winds and heavy downpours destroyed almost 400 houses leaving more than 2,000 people homeless in seven provinces on Wednesday night. However, no one suffered major injuries during the strong winds, rain with thunder, and lightning which started between 6pm and 11pm. The provinces that incurred extensive damages to houses and properties were Kratie and Banteay Meanchey. However, the actual extent is yet to be determined. According to Kratie province’s Snuol district governor Sarm Nal at least 200 houses in the district were either partly or completely destroyed due to strong winds and heavy rain. “It was lucky that no one got injured or died in the incident,” he said, adding that the authorities concerned have gone to ground to check the actual situation, including the extent of the damage to properties and the cost involved. It is learned that the victims have moved to a safe site, pending their houses being rebuilt. read more https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50852856/more-than-400-houses-destroyed-in-seven-provinces/
