Anyone Living Near Hat Yai? Monkey Bikes?

Featured Replies

I recently drove down to Hat Yai, and some where on route. (I'm sure it was near Hat Yai, but I suppose it might have been anywhere from Nakorn Ci tammerat downwards any where to Sadao) , I passed a showroom with hundreds( maybe a slight exageration) of monkey bikes outside.

Does anybody know where I mean and can anybody supply me with prefferably a phone number or at least a more accurate idea of where this showroom might have been?

other than that does anyone know where I can find cheep monkey bikes around. locals round where I live keep telling me they're easy to find and dirt cheap but I cant track the buggers down

What's a Monkey bike?

They are the tiny motorbikes usually with a 50 or 70cc engine suitable for small kids.

Thanks Old Man.

Yeah Pops. Thanks for the 411. Now I know what to call them when I look for them.

What is the weight limit?

I didn't know what a monkey bike was either.

Is this term used here in Thailand only?

What if you see big bikes, something like 1000 cc or more? Would we be calling them buffalo bike? :o

This is a monkey bike. Popular in quite a few countries, UK and Japan come to mind. Not uncommon for fans to own more than one bike, heard of one guy who had twenty of them, and they have a habit of spending loads of money on them making them go 'fast' with aftermarket parts bolted on everywhere
