VocalNeal
Pain in my right knee after sitting for a while in a chair with my knee bent. I have to waddle for the first few steps. Doesn't hurt acutely when I walk normally only when I stand up from seated. It does "burn" a bit but no grating feeling when I walk. Seems to be on the inside of my knee and hurts most if stress is put on the joint laterally.
spidermike007
Could be a minor case of gout. In which case one or two doses of Indoman will knock out the pain quickly. And for good. Miracle med for gout. Or it could be a minor ligament or tendon sprain. In which case it will get better, as long as you do not stress it. Or could be the onset of osteoarthritis. Hope not. If that is the case, MSM can often help.
Sheryl
The muscles and ligaments shorten when you are sitting and the pain you feel rising is the tight muscles and ligaments stretching. Regular stretching routine will prevent this. You may also have some degree of osteoarthritis, thsi also benefots greatly from exercises/stretches. there are many to be found on youtube. Or see the exercises shown here https://www.webmd.com/pain-management/knee-pain/injury-knee-pain-16/slideshow-knee-exercises
VocalNeal
Cheers. I'm going to start swimming again and the temple up the hill has a seat with a weighted bar for knee exercise. My leg tendons have always been tight.

I have upped my magnesium to avoid cramps during stretches. I can now do some hard stretching in bed "raising" my foot without my calves cramping up. Following the webmd regime as well. I was told yesterday about an on line recommendation to walk backwards for 10 mins every other day. I don't know where my nearest treadmill is and don't fancy a John Cleese impersonation in my neighborhood. But have experimented outside the house. The act of walking backwards means landing on one's toes which will act as stretching. Will try to find a quiet street/road after teaching the wife's Chihuahua the art of the guide doggery.
