nicelee808
Hi, I need to renew passport for my daughter and apply for a new passport for my son. I am divorced with their mother and not on good terms, she has legal responsibility but has abandoned the kids with the grandmother, I believe she will sign any required documents, but unlikely to go to the British Embassy, I would be able to provide birth certs and the kids could come to the embassy with me. Is it still possible for me to renew my daughter's passport and apply for a new one for my son and if so how to I do it? Edited July 8, 2021 by nicelee808 Link to comment

Popular Post blackcab
UK passports are not issued by the British embassy. The embassy, in fact, has absolutely nothing to do with issuing UK passports. The process to apply is shown here: https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports When you have completed the application(s) they will have to be presented in person to VFS Global in Bangkok. You can do this in person or use an agent to present the documents. You will need to book an appointment. As the father of your children you can apply for UK passports on their behalf. You do not need the permission or co-operation of your ex-wife. Your children do not need to be present at VFS Global when you or your agent present the applications on their behalf. 2 2 Link to comment

greenmonkey
If you manage to get the passports you will need signed paperwork from your missus that gives her consent for you to take the children out of the country - they will ask for this at the airport. Link to comment
