webfact
By Woraprat Lerpaisal BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Pollution Control Department (PCD) has declared Soi King Kaew 19 through 25, in Samut Prakan’s Bang Phli district, to be a restricted area, to facilitate work to eliminate chemical residues after last week’s blast at the Ming Dih Chemical factory. PCD Director-General Atthapol Charoenchansa said an area within a 1km radius from the blast site is now off limits. People who live in this area are not being allowed to return to their homes until further notice. He said the PCD is working to eliminate styrene and formaldehyde, which are still being found in the area. The department will also use other kinds of chemicals to render the chemical residue in the area non-flammable, to prevent future combustion while officials are working. Mr Atthapol said the PCD has tested the air quality 1 to 20km from the factory and it is still at a safe level, adding that the department also sprayed microbial enzymes, which are certified by the World Health Organization as safe for humans, animals and plants, to help reduce the chemical smell, as well to help make the water in canals clearer. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-07-12 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

natway09
Bit late now, Need an inquiry into the "Factories Act " Inspector's bank balance They should not have been storing 70% of what they had on site. The existing laws are pretty strict but the enforcement like the police with traffic rules is just not there
