Japan donates 1 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Cambodia

The Government of Japan will provide 1 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine to Cambodia. The move was announced today by Mikami Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia.

 

The Ambassador says the vaccine will be delivered to Phnom Penh as soon as logistics by the COVAX Facility is completed.

 

The Ambassador added:

“I hope that this assistance will support the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia in the fight against COVID-19, as well as alleviate some of the concerns of the Cambodian people. In the face of the spread of new infections that the world is facing, vaccination and strengthening the health system are important for the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia.”
