Cambodia has ordered a one-month travel ban, starting Sunday, between Cambodia and Vietnam to stop the chain of Covid-19 transmission. Correspondence of the temporary suspension which was approved by Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday has been sent to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs secretary of state Ouch Borith on Tuesday.

The government has decided to suspend temporarily all travels in and out of both countries including that of skilled workers, technicians, and employees of Vietnamese companies for a month starting July 18 to stop and break the transmission of Covid-19.

However, the letter signed by Borith said the temporary ban does not include patients who need medical treatment in Vietnam, diplomats, civil servants, students or trainees who are invited by governments of both countries and those with special authorised reasons from both the governments.
