Hotel listing appears to indicate choice of quarantine hotels for inbound travellers to Cambodia under new government scheme.

Amidst news that foreign diplomats and UN agents can quarantine at the Himawari Hotel, it appears that inbound travellers to Cambodia may have a choice in which hotel they spend their 14 day quarantine in – if a listing on a prestigious Phnom Penh hotel’s website is correct. The Courtyard Phnom Penh – operated by the international Marriott chain – has listed a 14-night package starting from USD 1,980 for inbound travellers.

 

Under the slogan ‘Quarantine in Comfort‘, the Courtyard’s website says:

‘Make your quarantine period more comfortable at Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh.

Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh is proud to have been selected as a pilot hotel, allowing all incoming international travelers to Phnom Penh to book their own “ASQ Hotel” directly.

 

 

In conjunction with Cambodia’s Ministries of Health and Tourism, we are honored to be a partner in such an important step forward for the country.’

It is believed that ‘ASQ’ stands for ‘Alternative State Quarantine’, which is a scheme that has been running in Thailand, amongst other countries, enabling travellers to choose their quarantine location. The package offers ‘Breakfast, lunch and dinner (full board), Private airport transfer, Medical services throughout your quarantine, assigned by the Ministry of Health, 2x Covid-19 tests and a 24-hour certified nurse on-site.’
