Cambodia’s COVID-19 vaccination drive relentless as number vaccinated crosses six million in five months

Cambodia has achieved yet another milestone in its efforts to inoculate her people against COVID-19 with its sixth millionth person vaccinated yesterday. As of the night of July 19, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Defense have vaccinated a total of 6,061,305 people  throughout the country out of the targetted vaccination of 10 + two million, or  60.61 percent of the initial target of 10 million.

 

According to  figures from the National Ad-hoc Commission for COVID-19 Vaccination,  close to 4. 2 million  have already got their second dose of COVID-19 vaccines. The 5th million vaccine to be administered in Cambodia was given to a 70 year old farmer just a week ago and since then, another one million people have been vaccinated across the country.

 

Cambodia has set to vaccinate around 10 million people or 62 percent of the total population against COVID-19 and the target is expected to achieve by November this year. Last Friday, Prime Minister Hun Sen reaffirmed the plan to vaccinate the children aged from 12 to 17 years old, who account for around 2 million.
