A man who was previously detained this week for attacking monks at a Phnom Penh pagoda was the victim of vigilante justice last night in the capital. Nut Sitha, alias Mov, was detained on the the 1st of August for an attack at Wat Poriyaram (Wat Chas) in Sangkat Chroy Changva, Khan Chroy Changva, Phnom Penh.

 

He was arrested by the Chroy Changvar district authorities and then released after being educated. However, last night, along the riverside road in front of Wat Chas, the man – known to be a drugs user – threatened monks and villagers again with a knife.

 

Villagers took justice into their own hands and beat him severely, leaving him in a semi conscious state.
