Flood risks in Singapore today as heavy showers continue across SE Asia

SINGAPORE - It is the second day this week of heavy showers across the island and flash floods may occur, national water agency PUB said.

The Meteorological Society Singapore (MSS), a unit under the National Environment Agency, issued a heavy rain warning on Tuesday morning (Aug 31), with moderate to heavy rain falling over central and western Singapore and heavy rain in the east.

At 8.20am, PUB said water levels in Commonwealth Lane and Commonwealth Drive are near full capacity following heavy morning showers.

 

Another Climate Change casualty?

 

Heavy monsoon rains have caused disastrous floods and left millions displaced in South Asia. Like Harvey, climate change likely played a role.

Heavy rains have been reported across SE Asia with up to three metre floods in Thailand’s Pattaya.

The same was reported in Malaysia as well.

 

Umbrellas and even waders will not keep you dry this week.

 

And with the terrible weather and record winds in the States, one has to wonder what nature will throw at us next!!!
