ASEAN NOW News
Here's Today's Tip... The Green. Aim for the middle of the green. This is one tip that I’m sure every golfer has heard, but very few actually put to use (except for the pros). It’s also a tip that many players misunderstand. You see, playing to the middle of the green doesn’t mean playing sloppy. When the pros do it they still take dead aim by selecting the smallest blade of grass or tiniest spot of turf they can find, and then focusing on landing their ball right on top of it. And STAY AWAY from those "sucker pins"... always aim for the middle, your scorecard will thank you. 1
jesimps
I'm just happy if I get anywhere near the green without ending up in a bunker. I spend a couple of minutes pumping the air if my ball actually lands on the green, middle or wherever.

Thingamabob
Bad advice. Check the undulations first. If you simply aim for the middle you could end up in a bit of a mess.
Will B Good
Funnily enough just read someone quoting Tiger Woods saying he always aimed for the middle of the green.....BUT then shapes the shot to suit the green and pin position. One can but dream of doing that.
Geordieabroad
Going at the pin is for pros and low handicappers, weekend golf lovers go at the green, anywhere on the green Edited September 4, 2021 by Geordieabroad

KKr
did a golfer write this ? many years ago I was taught that one should play the ball to a position from where to hit the next shot best.

LongTimeLurker
Listen to your caddy. If she says "aim right" aim right. If she says "aim left" aim left. I always tell my caddy "tell the ball where to go, I can't control which direction it will go in"
