BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Education is expected to complete all aid payments to parents at 2,000 baht per person today. The Minister of Education today visited Nakhon Pathom province to oversee the payment process, adding schools providing cash payments to parents can request additional processing time to ensure all eligible parents receive the funds.

The payout campaign provided by the Ministry of Education is to assist the parents of school children, either by a direct transfer to the parent’s bank account, or by a cash payment at the schools.

The Minister of Education, today stressed the payment process must be transparent and convenient, urging schools providing cash payments to enforce social distancing measures on campus for visiting parents.

She said the government is committed to helping parents and students in all grades affected by the pandemic, from kindergarten to high school and vocational education, covering some 11 million people.

Ms Treenuch said a stringent identification and payment documentation protocol must be in place to ensure transparency, while admitting these measures could cause some delays.

She urged schools to find suitable measures to solve issues they may face in the campaign, in order to ensure the payouts reach all students and parents in an orderly manner.
