There is more to this than just “saving the planet.” Politicians have to deal with several scenarios at the same time: climate change, pollution, food, energy, industry, jobs, national security, and competition with other nations. That is the part many people forget. They have to evaluate different scenarios and solutions when dealing with climate change. I would be careful with the word crisis, because no matter our influence or other causes, this planet has seen massive changes before. What is new is human-made pollution in every form. Still, it is the politicians driving the train, using more resources to save the climate, while at the same time there are no real brakes if we still want to compete with other nations and the money monster that keeps us safe for now. The good thing is that the scientists have called off the worst scenario, for now. Still, it seems some have called off the whole climate change issue because the worst scenario is not the case for now. And last but not least, climate science is a different thing than climate politics, but most should understand that by now, or?
