Thai Exports See Positive Signs Amid Lingering Pandemic

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Thai National Shippers’ Council (TNSC) on Tuesday decided to maintain its export growth forecast for Thailand at 12% this year, according to the council’s chief, Chaichan Chareonsuk.

Heavy rains expected until Monday

BANGKOK, 6 October 2021 (NNT) - The middle and lower parts of Thailand can expect to see more downpours from today until early next week with potential flash flooding. The Meteorological Department is closely monitoring the development of a low-pressure cell prevailing over the South China Sea which may strengthen into a depression moving west towards Thailand.

Chonburi Governor orders more Covid-19 related temporary targeted closure of work camps and company

3 senior officials recommended to be sacked over dubious 112.5-Bln Baht rubber glove deal

Former acting director of Thailand’s state-run Public Warehouse Organization (PWO), Pol Col Roongroj Putthiyawat, and two senior officials in the same organization, have been found to have committed gross disciplinary violations for the decision to procure 500 million boxes of rubber gloves for medical use, at a cost of 112.5 billion baht, without authorization from the PWO’s board.

Vaccination for students continues ahead of November school reopening

BANGKOK, 6 October 2021 (NNT) - The administering of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for students ages 12-18 is ongoing, having kicked off simultaneously in selected provinces earlier this week. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul on Wednesday observed the vaccination drive for school children at Surasak Montree School in Bangkok.

PM orders Health Ministry to take control of outbreak in South

BANGKOK, 6 October 2021 (NNT) - The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported rising numbers of new COVID-19 infections in the South, triggering concern from the prime minister who has tasked the Ministry of Public Health to put a stop to the increase and contain the outbreak in 2 months.
