Changing Non O Thai Wife, with WP, to Non B

Recommended Posts

Hi

I want to change my Non O Thai Wife with workpermit, to a Non B

I work at a multinational on an Industrial Estate

We have sold our house and move out at 30.11 and are starting the build of our new house soon. In a different Amphur.

On 25/11 my visa is due and I was thinking of changing it to Non B as we have no house and thus no pictures to show we live together

Wife has no Tabien Baan etc.

Company asked at Chamchuri Square for guidance and they referred to the IEAT

IEAT has now referred us to Chaeng Wattana where we still have to go to ask...

Has anyone gone this route before??

We rent a house for the time being but it is in Cha am, where are new house will be located and  I work in BKK

In BKK I rent a studio for the weeknights.

Any suggestions are welcome

FYI

It has to be through IEAT, they will cancel my current Non O Thai wife and work permit and will issue both new. IEAT is the industrial estate authority.

Chamchuri square could have done it for an under the table fee of 20K thb, never expected they would have these methods there as well....

I learnt that Non O Thai wife with work permit can be done at IEAT and at Chamchuri square no need to go to the local immigration although in my case that works much easier and faster

This is very odd. Normally, the only thing that should change is the basis for your extension of permission to stay. Rather than applying for an extension based on your Thai wife, you now want an extension based on working. The work permit is unaffected. You are already on a Non Immigrant entry, and the combination of that and the work permit are the main requirements to apply for an extension based on working. The class of Non Immigrant visa you originally used to enter Thailand should be of purely academic historical interest.

Your reason is that you do not have a house with pictures to show really? You can't figure yourself you could take pictures beforehand? This is almost the Thai level of asking questions.

Also, a non-b is obtained from abroad, you can't change to a non-b within the country as it is a visa you actually need to obtain in embassy / consulate. Only extensions are done within the country.

Last but not least, a work permit can be obtained on a non-o as well + you can already extend your visa now thus you have a legit address as well photo op location. AKA you create problems non existing.

FYI

Immigration comes to visit when applying for a non o thai wife extension and receiving them in an empty house will be a suprise for them and us explaining them we move to another Amphur in a few days might add a complication in the year extension on that address where we are leaving from

Non O to Non B can be done either with IEAT or Non-Stop, just need to have some supporting documents which the company is now preparing, so you are incorrect with your assumption

You fail to see that I have no address or are leaving it the week after the extension..... that will create issues that I would prefer to prevent

My feeling as well, but I can be done after jumping through some hoops.

When on workpemit and working in an IE the IEAT issues with each WP extension a letter for immigration to support the visa application. I never used the letter. But  now I needed it and is was 4 months old and could only be used at Chamchuri with the extra payment....

We went back to IEAT and they understand the issue and will now assist in the extension of my Non 0 Thai wife on company address.... Puzzling for me but I take what I can get

FYI

IEAT has approved Non O Thai Wife extension. Needed to submit Passport, WP, Thai ID wife, Wedding certificate and it was approved within 2 days, next week can pick it up and they do the 90 days extension as well., Address is company address allthough they also asked for the main address where we stay a rental for the time being.

Now we (HR and myself) know the way it is much easier than through immigration without the pictures at work, home and the visit as well as company documents and the Amphur wedding confirmation and Tabien baan.

Wish I had done this a few years ago, as it is easier, but nobody in company nor myself knew of this possibility.
