lotus eater
I know that cars attract a higher level of tax than pick-ups and hence the latter are, at least on that basis, better value. In the medium term I'm thinking about getting a pick-up or 4x4 suv; I'd prefer the latter but would want to take account of the comparative tax level in my final choice. I like to make a decision after leisurely research and am starting the process now - about a year beforehand. Is the tax on pick ups similar to local suv s? If not, what's the difference? Are suv s a good buy 2nd hand (a year or two old) and are they easily available? Does the new Honda CR-V have any serious competition in its price range - from new or 2nd hand bigger suv s?
