Pattaya – Pattaya Police arrested two  “restaurant” managers last night (January 26th) in Pattaya for allegedly breaking Covid-19 rules and violating the closing time, currently 11:00 P.M. for alcohol-serving venues.

The Pattaya City Police reports the raids were personally led by the Pattaya City Police Chief Colonel Kunlachart Kunlachai.

The focus is primarily on venues that are former bars or entertainment venues that mainly sell alcohol and have been given permission to temporarily convert to “restaurants”.

Entertainment venues, including bars, pubs, nightclubs, gogos, karaoke lounges, and other similar businesses, remain legally closed since April of last year due to “Covid-19”.

Ahh, some more owners/managers too obtuse to understand/follow the rules.  Maybe it's time to start arresting the customers as well.

They were before but when you're desperate for tourists, it's not the smartest thing to do so seems like someone high up told them to stop it.

Maybe better to arrest the owners.... managers are two-a-penny.

Was out in Pattaya last night - many bars open , many drunk people , I think most bars stopped serving alcohol by 10:30 pm.

We are so lucky that Thai experts and Public Service officials discovered that Covid only becomes infectious after 11pm.

What a farce….

How about ATK tests, anyone asking for those?

We went to Tree Town , to the bar complex there - but because we entered from the side soi - not needed to do ATK test. If you enter at front - yes - you will be asked.

Went to the Pool bar at back of complex - & I attempted to show Vaccine info - but no need. You only have a limited time in the bars - so they want you in there (quickly) to start spending! ????

Yeah, that'll help the tourist numbers.

'breaking Covid-19 rules and violating the closing time, currently 11:00 P.M. for alcohol-serving venues.'

What's the law on a group of noisy yobs partying (regularly) till turned 1am on my estate?

So you say they should close all of them completely... because of course a virus does not wear a watch?

Yeah.. because Covid is nocturnal and starts attacking people after 11pm. Send them all to jail! ????

Not at all .  Sorry for not adding Sarcasm Alert

I enjoy a drink as much (or more?) than the next person.

I was trying to point out the stupidity of the ‘rules’.

Wowser - not

They have been arresting customers for about 18 months. The F pub over a year ago,  the S bar 6 months ago and countless others

Which only invites, yet again, more selective enforcement.

So "MacDonald Agogo" did not cough up the going rates which led Kunlachart Kunlachai to work overtime.

Good on him, good on all those boys in brown hunting down the culprits; arrest the janitor and the parking attendant, a slap on the back of the owner's hand, a little "token of appreciation" and ..... back to normal.

Yaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnnn - how boring; nothing else to report like, say, lottery number forecasts for 1 February or some findings in the latest vomit of dinosaurs? Really?
