I think it's a good choice if they had to change the name which they decided they did. The only downsides I think are that it comes across as kind of war mongering and also it will be more humiliating and fodder for dissing press coverage when the team is losing badly. mtls2005 Posted February 2, 2022 Share Posted February 2, 2022 The shortlist was: - Armada - Presidents - Brigade - RedHogs - Commanders - RedWolves - Defenders - WFT Four of which have a military bearing. RedWolves was the first choice but some trademark issues I guess. I liked WFT. And I guess the Washington Plantation (Candielanders?), which is in essence what an NFL franchise is, wasn't going to fly. Commanders has a bit too much of a Civil War feel, and no nickname possibility? The "Ders"? Meanwhile Dan Snyder's still the owner so they'll still suck.
