According to a recent report in The Nation the show is still on.  However, the burnees

are going to cover themselfs in wax to avoid harm - so literaly, i suppose, turn themselfs

into candles.  So barbicue is of candle lit dinner is on - how romantic :o

According to some iteligence report, this is the way it has been done in the past as

these guys dont want to die -  'just impress the media'.

I think someone should tell them that wax melts :D

You are all making silly jokes , about the people who intend to burn themselves , while the whole of Thailand will be burning if the situation in the south doesnt ammeliorate , and the junta leaders dont allow fair elections with the participation of Taksin .

Right, quite unbelievable actually.

I have no words for some of the disgusting posts here.

Keep in mind that the classification 'Thaksin Supporters' is spin from the junta controlled media.

There is every chance that people will die in pursuit of democracy, NOT specifically a return of TRT / Thaksin.

[People may die Black May style in a hail of bullets from the military, or (far less likely) suicide as described here, but frivolous banter doesn't disguise the depth of the abyss Thailand is in at the moment.]

Try, Hilarious, or side splitting, then stop taking it all so seriously!!!!

Ive had a friend comit suicide and its up to them same with my Grandmother who gassed herself. I didnt sit there thinking it was my fault for one second, if they want to set fire to themselves let them go ahead.

So Thaksin is fair - what planet are you from.  Why did the EC ban the TRT.  Or do

you choose to ignore that. Dont you think Thaksins greed is resposible fro allowing this

current mess.

i would like to make one last musical dedication and what could be more appropriate than a hit tune from the 1980's by the group........ASIA and the tune "Heat of the Moment"

this song has apologies, saving face, club scene (soi cowboy perhaps)? scary dragons (that of course breathe fire) and of course references to heat

AsiaHeat Of The Moment (3:59)

I never meant to be so bad to you

One thing I said that I would never do

One look from you and I would fall from grace

And that would wipe this smile right from my face

Do you remember when we used to dance

And incidence arose from circumstance

One thing lead to another we were young

And we would scream together songs unsung

{chorus}

It was the heat of the moment

Telling me what your heart meant

Heat of the moment shone in your eyes

And now you find yourself in 82

The disco hotspots hold no charm for you

You cant concern yourself with bigger things

You catch the pearl and ride the dragons wings

{chorus}

And when your looks are gone and youre alone

How many nights you sit beside the phone

What were the things you wanted for yourself

Teenage ambition you remember well

{chorus x2}

Anti-coup protest leaders accuse CNS of planning to frame protesters for violence

Jatuporn Phromphan, a leader of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship, alleged Saturday that the military junta planned to burn government offices and blame protesters.

Jatuporn was speaking to a press conference held at the rally ground at Sanam Luang at 6:50 pm.

Jatuporn said his group had learnt that the Council for National Security would have its men wear protesting banner and burn government offices.

As a result, the protest leaders might decide not to move protesters out of Sanam Luang to march to the Army headquarters, he said.

If true, it would at least show these CNS clowns are starting to use their noggins a little to win some hearts and minds.

I am not saying he is not corrupt , however most of the politicians are corrupt also !!!

In addition do you think you can solve a problem by a military coup ??? is that Democracy ???

C'mon ... get real! It was not a democracy under Thaksin!

It was one kind of democracy that had loopholes that he exploited for personal gain and consolidating and tightening a grip on power. The problem is this democracy didn't have the proper checks and balances by other branches of government and judiciary that would allow for the exposure and removal of such a leader. The only way to remove him was the coup.
