Thai Rath reported that Bang Plee police in Samut Prakan were called to the scene of a collision between a pedestrian and a young man on a motorcycle.

Some 100 meters away by the footpath was the rider of the Yamaha N-Max 155 cc, a 22 year old man called Ratthaphon. He was taken to hospital by Poh Teck Tung foundation.

A noodle shop owner in the area called Athikhom, 32, said he heard a loud bang while watching TV.

The deceased was a regular customer often dropping in after his shift as a security man, he said.

The elderly are regularly killed while crossing the roads here.

Note the modded bike with illegal lights.

I am always concerned about the Thai habit of wearing black or dark clothes.

I understand that they do not show the dirt like white ones do, but black/dark clothes attract mosquitoes, retain the heat and make it almost impossible to see people on the roads at night.

"Wear something white at night".

Shame he didn't see the old man in the head lights.
