Thailand's drive to put every ganja or marijuana related product in consumer goods continues.

The odyssey - with health minister and Bhumjaithai party leader and DPM Anutin Charnvirakul at the helm - has just had its latest whistle stop.

This was the international convention center in Khon Kaen, NE Thailand, where companies showcased their deals and the public could find all about growing hemp and draping leaves over jasmine rice.

But at this event - opened by the minister last week - it was fermented fish company ZKC who stole the show.

They are advertising as "absolutely delicious" their new brand of "nam plaa raa" (fermented fish sauce) with marijuana added.

Thai Rath reported that the show had been well received by the public.

TAT and Ganja....they are smoking each other I guess!!

I have a sense of the 'emperor's new clothes' surrounding this farce.

That explains the incoherent anti-foreigner rant of a maid I heard this morning...

Anutin, Anutin, Anutin and TAT, So these are the new High end tourists they are seeking by showcasing Ganja Infused Fish sauce and Ganja leaves Draped over Jasmine rice.  False and misleading as it's not CBD oil infused and are just a useless hemp leave products...but hey good for them if they think people will come in droves just to try a product which will not get them high like a true edible will.

So its not a whistle-stop either but a Bong Stop instead.....Instead of bus stops throughout the country there will be Bong Stops where you can buy a dime bag and toke away while drinking a bottle of Ganja Nam Plaa.

Trying to make the whole population addicted....... means easy to control....

So, you now stand to be arrested for driving high after eating at your local noodle stall ?

It seems that some of the people, if not all, who are involved in this "drive" are already practising what they're preaching and are on the good stuff already, and plenty of it by looks of things...

Nope. If anything, they are advertising "nam plaa raa with HEMP leaves added". Because "cannabis" is still highly illegal.

Like many other countries, Thailand makes a legal distinction between "hemp" and "cannabis":

> Hemp = a THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content not exceeding 0.2% by dried weight (that's the ganja variety which has now been legalized and which Anutin is promoting so vigorously)

> Cannabis = a THC content of more than 0.2% by dried weight (that's the ganja variety that is still illegal and lands you in jail if you grow it in your backyard)

Are these people for real?

Will they start by replacing the corn in ice cream with some weed?

All fake products of course.

They firmly believe the gullible public will fall for it.

A percentage will of course.

Once fish sauce and jasmine rice are covered we might see extensions into toothpaste and toothpicks.

Ring me once it reaches toilet paper, will you please?

In reality, cannabis is the Latin word for the genus of plant that is hemp. Two main varieties, cannabis indica (used mainly for resin/oil production) and cannabis sativa (used mainly for  leaf/bud production). Marijuana is the Latin American Spanish name for the plant and is a much more recent construct.

I will wait for the Jelly drinks to be filled with a tincture  and Edible cinnamon gummy bears to be made.....
