Pareena Kraikupt, a former parliamentarian for the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP), asked for equal treatment under the law after 80 MPs and senators were accused of building on or claiming property that was situated in national parks or public land.

 

Pareena was stripped of her duty last Thursday and banned from politics for life. The Supreme Court found her guilty of severe ethical misconduct after she was charged with land encroachment by the NACC. They found that her 711-rai poultry farm in Ratchaburi’s Chom Bung district was encroaching on national park land.

Her call for other politicians to be treated the same came after the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) said on Sunday that they are investigating around 80 MPs who were accused of similar charges.

her harsh sentence has not much to do with the government MP's, but very much with the opposition.

Today Thanathorn was charged with lese majeste and the other charges. He faces ban from politics for life as well as tens of years in prison. 

Just days after her sentence comes a crystal night for future forward. More charges to follow soon, they have to be eliminated for election time.

Each of their MPs can be charged with the lese majeste, as this accusation was thrown a week ago against the whole party.

This charge stems from censure debate the last year over the royal household budget.

The charges stem from Thanathorn's Facebook Live discussions about Thai-made AstraZeneca vaccines and the monarchy back in January 2021, said his lawyer Krisadang Nutcharas. He is awaiting bail results as of press time. "

Go for it and provide all information to the NACC and prove it is not sour grapes on your part.

The government and the PPRP must be terrified that they will lose their parliamentary seats and sources of income at the next election.

 

This is one of the ways that they believe will help them survive.

 

IMHO they will lose big time next year, and with a bit of luck, Prayuth will be gone as well, especially as he was selected and not elected.

Pareena is showing how to win friends and influence people.

 

IMHO she was set up as expendable and as a sacrificial goat.

 

The good thing about telling the truth is that you only have to remember one thing.

 

When you tell lies you have to remember each time you lied, about what the lie was, who you said it to, and when.

Doesn't matter if they lose, they will just roll out the tanks... for the good of the Thai people. 

80 accusations. That's over 10% of the number of MPs/senators. I wonder if any other occupation would have similar numbers (just thought, the police and the military might be well up there!)

She might have had some credibility on points like this if she had talked about / practised good social ethics, honesty and sincerity towards fairness and good morals in the past 2 decades, but she hasn't/didn't!

the mere fact that these people have any illegal land should be enough to charge them all, there is no excuse for doing illegal acts especially when you are part of the govt. Again we see thai law covering up for certain people, shows just how pathetic thai law/courts/justices really are, law will never be applied equally in Thailand, its all a matter of your family name, your wealth and your circle of friends/aquaintences, the law has no part in it.
