Two electricians were injured this morning after accidentally falling off a radio antenna onto a roof in Sri Racha. The rescue took almost two hours.

The Sri Racha Sawang Prateep Rescue Foundation responded to an accident involving two injured electricians who became trapped on a gymnasium’s roof 6 meters above the ground in the Sri Racha sub-district, Si Racha, Chonburi early this morning, May 17th, 2022.

According to the report, the two electricians Ton (46) and Phajon ( both real names were withheld by rescue workers) were demolishing a 6-meter-tall radio antenna when they suddenly fell and dropped onto a gymnasium’s roof. They both sustained non-life-threatening leg injuries upon their impact.

My brother-in-law is an Electrician, when he came over to visit he couldn't believe the overhead cables, even in the center of Bangkok.

When we got out of town he just used to laugh and shake his head.

He probably took more pics of the overhead cables than the beaches for his mates at home ????

Safely working at height almost unheard of here.

A lot depends on the company you are working for.

Don't laugh,i did some work for an international company and they had people working 4 metres off the ground with 6 metre lanyards attached to the harnesses.

Working on demolishing a radio tower, maybe they needed a skyhook then.

Hehehehe......Yesss, same in Aus when it first came in only slightly different height.

These were 2.4 metre snatch-straps required for 2.4 metres and above.

Probably do not work with the amount of cars and trucks hitting poles !

Nice to know they only accidentally fell and didn't do it deliberately. That rules out attempted suicide, then.

Were they actually on the radio antenna, if so no wonder they fell off, or were they actually demolishing  the structure that supported the antenna ?

Maybe they did have safety straps but they were attached to the part they were dismantling.

Son-in-law is Health & Safety Officer in a UK Company.  His hundreds of Thai photos are the basis for many of his seminars.

They must be quite boring seminars.

They're hilarious as proper electricians view their Thai equivalent.
