Room/Studio In Banglamung

Featured Replies

Can you suggest me a room/studio in the wider banglamung area for 5500 baht pm?

Quiet would be a criteria

I m currently in Na kluea for 5500 plus bills, a big studio fully furnished, but neighboring rooms are each shared by 2/3 and even 4 people. Moreover my balcony opens on a very noisy bus parking

Thnx x ideas

The place that I recommend to friends has a very long lead time. 48 sq. m. with a swimming pool that no one uses. From 4500 baht I think, though with a relatively high electricity unit charge. When I asked previously, they came back with November. I'm not going to post the name here, as then the lead time will be even longer 😊

I stayed at this before I bought a condo, good location Soi Arunatai, Vanaporn place, was 6k a month, 8 baht a unit electicity, close to Big C Extra, nice people own it, includes weekly cleaning and lets you keep your bike and stuff there if you go home

Spanish condo.

5000 +500 service charge a month with swimming pool.

Arunatai near Sukhumvit road

Long shot but a couple of years back I remember a conversation with somebody who says they rented a unit at T. W. Wong Amat Beach for approx 4K pm which seems ridiculously cheap to me, there's also the Serenity condo close by which maybe has something available around the 8K mark.

Respectfully suggest ignoring the recommendation for Nirin or Flybird :)

Pas condo have bigger room than nirun, it’s less noisy but there is no swimming pool. Also around 5000k

Maybe there has been changes at tw wong etc....or maybe not.

But 4k in the mid of the zhong guo ren/rusky tourist area made no sense. (I knew abt the 4k room)

So i went there, talked to the reception ladies, im respectable and polished and i speak politely. the place is fully occupied first they said until nov, then the senior lady said until march. Fortunately the supervisor was busy in some bars in sungai kolok or she would have told me "busy until you dont look like a proper ladybar bloke".

Out of curiosity, i enquired what was the ongoing rate for the "notorious small room", they said 7500, 9 elec, 38 water. (Ritz hotel on the strand has more competitive rates).

That has become the tourist area of banglamung.

Or maybe they did not like me

I got an agreement there.

For a room (they call it condo but are studios really) just beneath one of the employees.

She said is quiet, some smell from the cooking.

I will enquire about the pool, but if reopens i go to municipal pool in nong prue, 25 mt under roof, morning we were only foreigners, pure swimming.

Unfortunately its sort if closed now

'They' are correct--a 'condo' can be anything from the smallest studio condos to very large condos taking up an entire floor--and everything in-between.

Respectable looking for a 5500 room, respectable to who?

Most admit that I had a giggle when I saw Nirun recommended……

I had a studio at Nirin for several years. Not full time as my main residence was in Bangkok, maybe 5 or 6 days a month. 29 s/m with minimal cooking facilities. More Thais than westerners in the complex, sometimes noisy but I never had any trouble with Thais. There were a lot of down & out westerners who could be pests, frequently asking to "borrow" B1000 Pool was OK then, don't know about now. I paid 3,500/m at the time and Govt elect rate. If you don't like walking you'll be taking a lot of motorbikes and that can add-up over a month.

7,500 plus 9 baht a unit for electric and 38 for water is a tourist-area rate, not a resident rate. Back from the beach, Jomtien side, a decent studio still goes for 6,000-8,000. And right now is the moment to ask - in low season an owner has a reason to say yes, from November he doesn't. Two things worth checking before you sign: the electric rate (anything over 7 is the owner's markup, not PEA's) and whether the monthly price drops if you pay two or three months up front. In August most small owners will say yes to that. In December they won't.
