More than 65% of the respondents to an opinion poll, conducted by Thailand’s National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), said they agree with the proposals to ease the outdoor mask wearing mandate and extend the closing time for nightlife venues to 2 am, instead of midnight.

The poll results released today (Thursday) comes ahead of a sub-committee of the Centre of COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA)’s deliberation on the outdoor face mask mandate relaxation tomorrow, before a recommendation is forwarded to the full CCSA for a decision.

NIDA Poll conducted the survey using random sampling by phone interview of 1,310 people aged 15 and over nationwide in various occupations and of various educational backgrounds and income levels on June 6th, 7th and 8th.

I'm okay with making face mask wearing optional.

As for 2am closure of "nightlife venues" I'm in disagreement.

There is a restaurant near me that has a stage and live band every night banging out live music as late as possible, it's situated right in the middle of a residential area.

Before Covid it would stay open until 2am and would do the same again, keeping the whole area awake.

I believe open-air pubs/bars/restaurants should close at midnight, allowing the enclosed bars clubs etc to stay open until 2am.

You did well, some change to karaoke and 4am is possible.

You have my sympathy, I got neighbours dogs out all night.

It beats me how an open-air "restaurant" can have a stage and live music banging out until 2am or later when it's slap bang in the middle of a residential area..

In town yes I can understand.

me thinks there should be no nightlife where i choose to live even if its central pattaya, covid was great for this i have my pension so <deleted> off especially if they thinks they can open up fully again.

How about close the window and put on the aircon if you have

2am closure why, just normalize <deleted> businesses have a right to to this after 2+ years covid is not a threat anymore " i had it its a joke"

Mask wearing outside is pointless

Walk around Pattaya, most of the farangs not wearing face masks look of Indian descent, the others with the chin diaper look of English descent....nuff said.

It is very likely it does not have the required licences..... may depend on who owns it!
