Thai Rath reported on a natural tragedy in Thailand's oldest national park, Khao Yai in the north east.

Following many days of monsoonal rains rivers and klongs were flooded.

In one area it is believed that a small elephant got into trouble crossing a swollen waterway and was helped by its mother.

Tragically both were swept away and subsequently fell over the Haew Narok waterfall to their deaths.
