Tax on parcels from UK

Featured Replies

I need to order a few things from Amazon UK and have them delivered to a friend there who will then post them to me here in BKK.  It's mostly some toiletries and tea, about 3 kilos in weight.  As this is the first time I do this, I am wondering if I will need to pay a hefty tax bill when I receive the parcel.  Can someone please shed some light on how tax is calculated so I can decide whether it's really worth doing this?

Thanks

Luck of the draw on the day !

Technically it depends entirely whats declared on the parcel for value when sent.

In broad terms its Cost + Ins+ Frieght x10% + vat

On all items over 1500 baht. (%duty varies by item classification)

It may get stopped it may sail through there is NO  guarantee either way.

Amazon have a deal on certain items, but not all. .£5.99 delivery to Thailand at the moment. So if you put a delivery address here, you will see full cost, including import fees before you buy.

Might be worth checking that out before sending via your friend.
