Hello! 

I've been accepted into a private university here in BKK, 
1. I have a south african passport, entered with 30 day visa free entry

2. I have the list of documents and assistance needed from the university. (stamped and certified)

 

Here is my issue, 

I'm already in BKK, 

1. A requirement for the visa is police clearance , my country needs me to visit a police station in my country in person for fingerprints. If i go to the SA embassy in Phloen Chit, it can take up to a year for clearance 
Any way to have a work around ?

 

2. Is it possible to change my visa to a ED visa without leaving thailand ? 

Even if it is possible to get the visa admin done here and then leave to a neighbouring country and return?

A police clearance is not required if applying at immigration.

The main point is that i entered on 30 day visa free

You can apply at immigration in Bangkok it that is where you are living and attending school.

You can apply with a 30 day visa exempt entry or the 30 day extension of it.

You must have at least 15 days remaining on your stay from from your entry or the 30 day extension of it to apply for the visa.
