Officials in the Nong Pla Lai subdistrict of Banglamung cleaned sewers to prepare for more flooding.

The operation took place in the Nong Pla Lai subdistrict today, September 13th, under the command of Mayor Pinyo Homklan in preparation for more rainfall that is forecasted to hit Chonburi many days from now.

As a temporary solution, the mayor stated that he has assembled a team of city workers to monitor the flooding around the clock in order to respond to a flood report in a timely manner. At the same time, he directed his subordinates to clean the clogged sewers surrounding the sub-district in order to improve drainage.

Are these actually sewers, or are they "storm drains"?  Either way, it's good to be forward-thinking and prepared for what is forecast to come.

Not sure where this occurred as I live  around there. We actually do not do so bad wrt flooding, and compared to the city. So much so that huge drains are being put in down the railway line road to share it with us.

Looks like usual council workers to me - 1 doing the hard graft and 7 standing around trying to look busy

Thats only when the truck mounted vacuum cleaners are used and prisoners get days off sentences for going up the pipes vacuum head in hand.

I saw it last time they did it and the state the guys that went through the pipe came out like...IMHO they earn the remission

I can't but I would not send 7 people to do a maximum 3 man job ! But at less than £10 a day I guess it does not matter

NOW ???? The question should be if no more heavy rain was forecast would they even think about cleaning the Storm Drains/ Other drains at all. ?

Answer please on a small postage stamp !!

Gee, you would hope they’d be doing this regardless.

Sounds like a nice fella... temporary solutions and directing his subordinates.

This is a sure sign that the rains and flooding are complete for the year.
