The Constitutional Court announced  it will deliver its verdict on suspended Prime Minister Prayut’s eight-year term in office at 3 p.m. on Friday September 30. 


It’s announcement follows receipt of a petition signed by 171 opposition MPs asking for a ruling on when Prayut’s eight-year tenure ends.


Prayut says he will respect the Court’s ruling. 


The government has passed an amendment bill to free  some 3.4 million Students from having to pay interest and outstanding amounts on Loans for education and avoid prosecution. The education loan fund established in 1998 provides each student with a loan of up to 200 thousand baht.

 

Two Thai celebrities, a husband and wife, reported to police yesterday to hear charges of fraud known as Forex 3d, involving billions of baht.


The couple and two others allegedly obtained loans with the intention to defraud the public and post false information online.


The two denied the charges and said they would provide evidence to investigators on Sept 30th. 

 

Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt has proposed building a so-called flood highway that would allow run-off from areas upstream of Bangkok to drain faster and directly into the sea as a long term solution, the interior minister acknowledged the idea as a point for discussion but noted the capitals canals had been dredged and were providing runoff to the ocean. 


A doctor in Nakhon Ratchasima has asked parents of young children to be aware of  the respiratory ‘syn-say tial’ virus after one boy died from the disease on Monday. 


Several others have been admitted to hospital, symptoms are similar to flu and can lead to a serious lung infection.

 

Forestry officials have asked police to take legal action against a group of Hmong people who prevented them from leaving a hotel resort that was allegedly built illegally on a mountain side in Petchabun.


Officials were about to inspect 12 new resorts when several locals parked three pickup trucks to block their exit at about 2.40pm. They tried to negotiate their way out but were blocked in until around 10pm. Officials asked why authorities failed to take any action.
