Does anyone know what sort of electrical work is required in hooking up an EV battery to the house mains as a backup battery? I already have a 3Kwh solar install.

The first thing you need is V to L capability built into EV. If it’s just an EV battery then you need cooling for the battery plus all the circuitry for charging.

 

Actually installing a battery backup is reasonably simple.

    My Plan is to is to use a transfer switch to alternate between grid power and power from V2L into my inverter. I made a video about how it could be done
