As for ASEAN, all they are is an expensive talking shop. They have NEVER been a doing shop. They must always end in a face saving compromise. If Thailand wants to support China or the USA it is up to them. What they cannot do is support both China and the USA equally. It has to be one side, or the other, or neither.
