Hi All,

Does anybody have first hand experience of a alternative to UBC for satellite TV on Koh Samui?

Costs and Channels available would be good.

He may mean that he has the cable service which uses programes from sa .

there is only cable and ubc,,if you want south african or malaysian channels they are only good for sport ,and they cost a lot

there again someone did say that you can get a dish from anywhere round the world. just need someone to install it. yet again. i am just going on what i was told would have to look into how it could be done. if it could be done.

i dunno why u could not. say have an english staerlite and install it in thailand becuase it works off a saterlite in space.

probably be expensive though.

I went to samui Guru in Bophut yesterday. From what I could understand they offer a satellite instalation includes most of the channels on the UBC platinum package, 7 sports channels, installation fee 28,000 baht, then 300 baht per month after the first year, he also mentioned something about it including a internet access package but he was a bit vague re this.

Anyone try one of those slingboxes on a broadband line. Apparently if you had a home in the UK, with a subscription to sky, broadband and a slingbox, you can watch and control your sky box any where in the world. But then again that might just be another of them odd dreams i've been having!

nearly all of these things you can do. it is just finding out how and getting a supplier.

you can buy seconnd boxes for the ubc from sub companies rarther than paying through the noose for 1 subscription per box.

i didi it have to boxes to remotes work fine.
