Hello  i am asking for information on Regency Financial Services here in Thailand, i have looked them up on Google i cant seem to find to much info, they say they are a global company, yet their offices are only in Asia, i am looking to invest and i would like to know from anyone who is or has been involved with them their feelings on investing with this company, or some other advice

Thanks

With so many 'sound' companies and funds in which to invest.......why bother?

There is a Regency for Expats which is a life and health insurance broker, is that the one?

Be very very very careful of anything to do with anyone selling financial services in Thailand, the industry is not very will regulated here, some aspects not at all.. Western financial service companies are not usually allowed to operate here, unless they are specifically licensed in Thailand and I don't know any that are. It used to be popular for Western IFA's to drum up business here and tell everyone they are UK regulated, that means nothing since any advice would be offered outside of mainland UK hence they are not regulated.

On balance, and I've lived here for over 20 years, there is no financial product or service offered here that cannot be obtained in a regulated and safer UK environment where you at least have some protection. On the other hand, I have seen a number of fly by night Brit. IFA's, churn private client pension accounts, illegally and solely for profit.

Thanks for you comments

I have been involved in a few shady deals over the years, like you said its hard to find anything here in Thai

Fry Group, a UK based financial / pension advice company but with an office in Singapore, have received some good reviews in the past. May be worth a contact to see what they can offer. I have used them in the past and found them very professional.

As with all such actions, caveat emptor should be uppermost.
