Amy Coney Barrett warned to recuse from gay rights case — by ex-members of her own Christian group: report

Amy Coney Barrett finally meets the other 8 Supreme Court ...

Amy Coney Barrett's controversial Christian organization, "People of Praise," are demanding that she recuse herself from an upcoming case which could create further exemptions for businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ people on religious grounds.

"The former members are part of a network of 'survivors' of the controversial charismatic group who say Barrett’s 'lifelong and continued' membership in the People of Praise make her too biased to fairly adjudicate an upcoming case that will decide whether private business owners have a right to decline services to potential clients based on their sexual orientation," reported Stephanie Kirchgaessner. "They point to Barrett’s former role on the board of Trinity Schools Inc, a private group of Christian schools that is affiliated with the People of Praise and, in effect, barred admission to children of same-sex parents from attending the school."

When supreme court judges are appointed according to their strong political and religious orientation, It's obvious that the system is rotten.

In a a rare moment I agree with you that the system is rotten.

Once the soup has been spit in it is already fouled, regardless if there is more spit to follow.  Nothing anyone on the court can say or do will affect that.

Three obvious liars were put on the court, and an obviously corrupt attorney general, all by the same kleptocratic administration.  And then there is the walking infamy known as Thomas.

If Roberts had a spine he would confront Thomas, and if it results in no action Roberts should resign in protest.

Thomas, Alito, Roberts and Coney-Barret should be impeached, they will never resign.

Your post is the howler. Why the hell should a SC nominee answer biology 101 questions which are just red meat for the bigots?

Well because many federal laws pertain to sex, I'd imagine.

The SC will never be asked to adjudicate on whether people have the right to claim non binary sex. That ship has sailed.

Most amusing was Thomas' justification for striking down gun laws. He opined that no laws could be constitutional that did not exist at the time the Constitution was promulgated.

There is no legal basis for any judge to recuse from any case, because of their personal religious beliefs. The Constitution’s No Religious Test Clause (Art. VI, Sect. 3) specifically outlaws this anti-Catholic religious bigotry.

Would they ever ask a Muslim judge to recuse?

That's not the basis for the complaint.

Let me get this right.

A religious organization is giving instructions to a Supreme Court Justice who is a member of there organization.

No, I think these are people who bailed on the organisation.

It's funny how they call People of Praise a group when it's actually a cult. Amy Barrett Browning has spent her entire life in that cult. When she went to college she didn't live in the dorms. She lived in the house of of the founder of the cult. Her husband comes from another family of cult members.
