Popular Post aussienam
It doesn't send a good message to other nations all over the world that have imposed sanctions against Russia and banned flights. Thailand prefers neutrality of course. I've seen enough images and footage of the carnage in Ukraine with deaths of men, women and children and many living in sheer terror, whilst Russians are enjoying a holiday in Thailand. Doesn't sit right for me. Poor taste. Fails the pub test. 6

And have you seen the death and destruction and rape and pillage of the Donbass by the ''Ukrainians'' since the violent overthrow of the last democratically elected government in 2014? 3

By "democratically" you mean with votes bought with Russian money? People said "no" to that illegitimate pro-Russian government. That is true democracy, the will of the people. 2
JoseThailand
I wonder how they still manage to fly, without the proper maintenance and spare parts for the aircraft. That is very unsafe for all the countries that allow Russian aircraft into their airspace.
ourdon
"WELCOME???" hmm, strange term for the way I feel. They are welcome in the same sense that a hog is welcome to the county Barbeque. This ain't neutrality. This is December 1941 again. I am so, so, disappointed. 1

JimboB4
How can they afford it? Their currency was supposed to have been rendered worthless by Ukraine sanctions. But there’s a lot of inflated tourist numbers on this site all the time so who knows.

superal
Just wondering , are their still direct flights to Pattaya . I seem to remember that some Russian flights were allowed to fly direct to Pattaya a few years ago . Also , with the large amount of Russians coming to Thailand and some maybe fleeing mobilisation , are they being checked for return flights ? It was only a month or so ago that flights out of Russia to the middle east and Turkey were very expensive . $15k for a one way ticket .
MrJ2U
Hua Hin has loads of Russians along with other Europeans. I miss the days of pandemic emergency measures where the place seemed like a small seaside village with virtually no tourists. Anyways still a pleasant place after Issan.

Russia still gets $2bn every day from oil and gas exports. No wonder their currency is as strong as a farang's c*ck in a gogo bar.
