A former police woman and her boyfriend who allegedly abused her maid who was also a  part time soldier heard charges against them yesterday, including human trafficking, depriving the victim of her liberty, assault, forced labour, and illegal possession of weapons, both denied the charges.


Their former maid said she had firm evidence against the two and while her injuries were healing she still felt unsafe. 

 

A row has broken out out between the NBTC,  broadcast regulator, The Sports Authority and the True TV service over broadcast rights  of the World Cup, the NBTC claims the sports authority has not permitted fair distribution of matches and may recall 600 million baht funding, True is believed to have financed some 300 million baht and is understood to have asked the courts to prevent matches being distributed to iptv tv channels many of which can be seen overseas.

A points system for traffic offenses will come into effect on 9th January, Points will be deducted for traffic violations and late or non-payment of fines.  


The loss of all 12 points would result in a 90-day suspension of the drivers’ license. If a driver’s license is suspended for a fourth time in three years, the license may  be terminated.

 

Construction company developing new facilities at U Tapau airport says construction of the new terminal. Commercial space and parking facilities may be delayed by 2 years due to the effects of the pandemic, with completion now expected in 2026.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is set to unveil his Cabinet for swearing-in tomorrow, amid pressure from the civil service to get the government running again after nearly two months in limbo.

 

Myanmar: acting president of the civilian led parallel government the NUJ, Mr Duwa La-shi-La, says at least 2,000 pro-democracy fighters have been killed battling the military junta that seized power last year.


The military has branded him and his colleagues terrorists and banned citizens from communicating with them, but the NUJ enjoys widespread support as armed groups known as People’s Defence Forces have emerged across the country.
