The Ministry of Interior has no policy to prohibit units under its supervision or the private sector from holding celebrations or other entertainment between December 30th and January 2nd, according to Interior Permanent Secretary Suttipong Juljarern.

He stressed, however, that organisers of celebrations or other festive activities must ensure the safety of revellers, such as by taking steps to prevent fires or brawling, which may lead to property damage or injury.

The permanent secretary has also instructed all provincial governors and relevant agencies to tighten safety measures at entertainment venues, as well as at hotels and especially in nightlife venues, to make sure that no one under age, narcotics or weapons are allowed in the premises.

instead of giving warm new year encouragements and congratulating his subordinates for job well done in the past year, he instead gives strange warnings to public and his agencies.

How would it boost public confidence in an organised celebrations, if he talks about fires, brawling, drugs and weapons?

He even points to hotels as venues, where there is a risk of those dangers happening, as if hotels are not suppose to be safe place of rest and entertainment through all year.

His nasty attitude is surely dampening joyful celebration mood.

What he failed to mention, unlike Prayuth, as well as some governmental agencies, that princess is hospitalised since 14th december and her state is unclear. Prayuth said he wan't celebrate NY because of that going on. Those agencies ordered cancelling parties.

Imagine what effect such ministerial statement and news titles "No ban" had on public in some other countries around the world. There would be outrage he involves himself in matters beyond his competence
