Most of Thailand to become cooler

A new strong cold front from China is now covering northern Thailand and the South. This will cause the temperatures to fall by 2-4oC in northern and north-eastern regions and by 1-3oC in the rest of the country, except the south.

Thai exports grow by 7.6% in first 11 months of 2022

BANGKOK (NNT) - Thai exports are starting to feel the effects of the global economic slowdown, with the latest figures pointing to a 6% export contraction for the month of November. Whole-year exports have nevertheless exceeded targets, with a 7.6% expansion seen in the first 11 months of 2022.

American man who jumped from third floor of Phuket Airport dies in hospital

Police in Phuket have confirmed that an American man, who is understood to have jumped from the smoking are on the third floor at Phuket Airport’s international terminal, has died from his injuries. According to a Phuket Express report, the man jumped from the third floor at the back of the Departures area yesterday afternoon, just after 3pm.

Phuket launches accident prevention centre ahead of New Year

Officials in Phuket have launched a Road and Marine Accidents Prevention Centre, with the aim of reducing the number of avoidable incidents over the New Year holiday period. According to a Phuket Express report, Governor Narong Woonciew presided over the launching of the centre yesterday at the offices of the Phuket Provincial Administration in Phuket Town.

HTMS Sukhothai communications dome found Thursday, five crew still missing

A communications dome, belonging to sunken HTMS Sukhothai, was found drifting at sea this morning (Thursday), but there is still no trace of the last five missing crew members, as the search continues for the 11th day today.
