The Bidens make an island escape ahead of consequential 2024 announcement

President Joe Biden this week returns to St. Croix, one of his and first lady Jill Biden’s beloved vacation spots, seeking a final opportunity for rest before what is expected to be a contentious 2023 and reelection run.

As Biden unwinds in a familiar spot – the first couple have visited the US Virgin Islands for more than a dozen years, vacationing there approximately ten times since the mid-2000s – the work on his path forward intensifies back in a frigid Washington, DC. Advisers are already preparing the president’s annual State of the Union address, typically delivered in late January or early February, viewing the speech as an opportunity to lay down the stakes and themes that Biden could adopt on the campaign trail.

Well deserved imo enjoy

I'm a Democrat. I like the guy. Nice guy, impeccable career and qualifications. That being said, man he's old, and has been looking worse and worse in public appearances. Time to hang it up, Joe. Thanks for the memories. His time during the Obama admin was great. His roast of Sarah Palin in the VP debate, legendary. But that was 15 years ago. Several newer generations have been since waiting in the wings, ready to take the stage.

Can’t spare the man he gets stuff done! and all within the confines of our system of government! he also has done quite a bit to restore our pride in being Americans after the humiliation of the trump years

Agreed. "Gettin' stuff done" should be the campaign tag-line.

Simply amazing all that he has accomplished.

It helps when you have policies, core beliefs and faith in America's propsects. Unlike the republicans who only seem to have complaints, and zero solutions.

No problem with age - experience and character mean more than youthfulness.

If he chooses not to run then it will be wide open, but a Democratic governor like Gretchen Whitmer or Jared Polis might have a solid chance? Kamala Harris would make a good POTUS but she polls poorly for obvious reasons. Same goes for Sen. Warren.

Enjoy a well-deserved vacation.
