Popular Post webfact 181975
Chinese New Year celebrations in Thailand By Peter Roche The next wave of tourists will come for Chinese New Year and airports around Thailand are bracing for the rise of visitors to celebrate the start of the new lunar year from January 16 to 28. The year 2023 marks the Chinese zodiac calendar Year of the Rabbit, and the year of the cat in Vietnamese culture. At Suvarnabhumi Airport, alone, 1.81 million passengers are expected during the 12 day break. BKK is expecting 10,965 flights – 7,635 international and 3,330 domestic flights. There has also been a request for 86 additional landing slots and charter flights. 26 requests from T Way (South Korean low-cost airline), 24 from Jeju Air (the first and largest South Korean low-cost airline) and 10 flights from Xiamen Airlines (China). Airport officials, in Bangkok and Phuket, are urging passengers to arrive no less than 3 hours before a flight if they’re travelling at this time as they expect additional congestion and possibility of delays. Popular Post vandeventer 7147
Really, they need to celebrate in their own country until their covid is under control. Who knows how many variants they will bring? Common sense needed here. 2 3

Indeed. The boomers whinge and duck for cover during Songkran. Now is the time to hide, during this imported non-event (for every other nation) no less. Pedrogaz 6122
My opinion: the deterrent value is very small, and it will not work as desired ie make a meaningful improvement in Thai driving. For instance drink driving is 3 points......you can drink and drive 4 times before losing your license....is this insane or is it insane......speeding is 1 point, so you can speed all the time.
