It happened in Suphanburi, central Thailand, on the Malaimaen Road opposite Wat Pa Lae Lai. Sorayuth said he heard an explosion from the engine compartment and then saw black smoke. He stopped by the side of the road and got out in time. Picture: Siam Rath Locals tried to extinguish the fire with water and hand-held extinguishers to no avail. But the fire department managed to put out the blaze in ten minutes before it reached the passenger compartment, reported Siam Rath. Sorayuth said there had been a problem with a short circuiting battery and he had taken the car to a garage for repair.
