Driving across the Friendship Bridge
I tend to agree with @DrJack54. Taking your vehicle to Laos gets easier each time you do it as you become more and more familiar with the process. However initially it is rather stressful as you are dealing with a minimum of 4 sets of officials, I could say 5 as you will need a Laos VOA too. Each official requires certain forms and you will need to find that official and provide the correct forms and that is not always obvious. So, to summarise, unless you like a good challenge for no apparent purpose, taking your vehicle to Laos and then immediately turning round and bringing it back is ridiculously hard to justify. -

Beers would be a 6 pack a week. Am on holiday, I drink a bottle of JD a day. lost 80kg last year, have put 20 back on. -

Is Obesity a Very Serious Problem?
They still exist. But we all get used to lots of pretty women. Just go to the UK or so for a day. And then you will realize how many women in Thailand look good - compared to other places. About obesity in general. Some of us just like nice food and drinks. And for some of us we only gained weight when we got older. A little more, and a little more, and a little more. And then it's a question of the motivation to lose weight. The general "do that for your health" is often not a strong enough reason. Don't ask me how I know... -

It's probably the beer that's making up for the low calorie intake from food. Not the best type of calories, but it probably prevents you from going into rapid weight loss.
