Boris Johnson has said he will find it "very difficult" to vote for Rishi Sunak's new Brexit deal for Northern Ireland.

The former prime minister said the deal was "not about the UK taking back control".

It is the first time he has commented since Mr Sunak unveiled the Windsor agreement on Monday.

(Perhaps?) the beginning of a story with a happy ending.

The vote happens soon. Sunak imposes a 3-line whip. Johnson defies it. Sunak removes the Conservative whip from Johnson. Johnson is not selected to stand by the Tories at the next election. Johnson returns to his previous job as the butt of the jokes on HIGNFY. We all live happily ever after. THE END.

The only downside to his demise is the fact that the fat, lazy, ignorant b*****d will still make millions from destroying so many life chances and damaging the UK's economy for decades.

Perhaps Johnson could ask permission to be accused from attending the vote on the grounds that he would suffer a life-threatening bout of shame? But no one would believe it since he's notoriously shameless.

Boris will likely abstain. I doubt he will feature much in politics unless or until Labour win the next general election. If that happens, as seems likely, expect him re-emerge shortly thereafter.

And if it's a case of 3 whips?

That's what SHOULD happen but the grass roots of the tories are the ones who select/deselect and they are huge fans of Boris. Sunak only has big support among the MPs, with the obvious exception of the ReformUK wing of the party (Rees-Smug, the idiot Dorries, Truss, Boris and the other nutters) who shout louder than the rest - as empty vessels usually do.
