Three Chinese nationals,  two men and a woman, were apprehended by the police for abducting a Chinese woman. The suspects allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and coerced her into transferring approximately 3.2 million baht using her mobile phone. The abduction took place inside a van parked at a car park in Sae Kao. The victim and her friend  were released the next day. The Chinese suspects are currently in police custody at Thonglor police station.

 

The local authority in Prachinburi yesterday closed a steel works after radiation was detected by officials looking for a missing tube containing caesium 137, 


No Further Information was available except the governor was due to hold a press conference this morning.

 

A tourist of unknown nationality drowned yesterday while swimming at the beach in Pattaya, rescuers were called and tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate the man aged about 60, The man’s identity was unknown.


Operators of Night entertainment venues along Patong Beach in Phuket say they have lost millions of baht during the past week, since another bar was raided for allegedly employing underage sex workers. The bar's owner, thought to be from Switzerland, is believed to have fled to Laos. 


All other bars were ordered to shut at 1am which resulted in loss of income, 
A local business association said it would call on the landowner to cancel the leases of the raided bar.

 

The Region:
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the country should be ready to conduct nuclear attacks at any time to deter war, accusing the US and South Korea of expanding joint military drills in the region.


His remarks came as the isolated country conducted nuclear tactical exercises meant to send strong warnings.


Taiwan; Former President Ma Ying-jeou will visit China this month, the first time a former or current Taiwanese leader is making the trip since 1949. The trip will be at a time of heightened tensions between Beijing and Taipei.
