Popular Post onthedarkside
Yevgeny Prigozhin says it would be “ideal” to declare an end to the war. But he says Russia must keep fighting, even if it means humiliating defeat. Wagner Group founder Yevgeny Prigozhin says Russia has already accomplished its goals in Ukraine—but must keep fighting even if it means humiliating defeat so that the country can ultimately rise again as a “war monster” that the international community will bow down to. After recruiting thousands of prison inmates to help fight the war for Vladimir Putin and using his shadow army to emerge as a rival to Russia’s top military brass, the mercenary boss and Kremlin-linked businessman offered his thoughts on the state of the war in a lengthy article published Friday. Also displacing the French fighting jihadists in central Africa. No doubt they are brutal but they have a long way to go in that respect to catch up to the 1M dead in Iraq caused by the British and Americans. 1 2 3 1
Popular Post Jingthing
So if Putin declared the SMO over with all the stolen lands frozen, Ukraine is supposed to agree with that? Good luck with that noise. 4 1 1

And not particularly successful nor profitable in Mali.... "One year after the Wagnerians arrived in Mali, results have been, at best, mixed; and at worst, a failure. Wagner’s 1,400 mercenaries have been unsuccessful in military action against the jihadists and restoring state-controlled security to the country. Despite numerous operations, GSIM remains present, apparently further extending its territory towards the south. The large-scale GSIM attack, carried out on 22 July 2022 against the Kati military camp, demonstrated to Malian military colonels that Iyad Ag Ghaly was not as distant an enemy as previously believed. The threats continue to rise in the northeast of Mali." https://www.theafricareport.com/273152/the-wagner-wars-malian-edition/ 1

It's a war of attrition in which he has most of the advantages. The Pentagon leaks show western media has been spreading nonsense propaganda. Like kill ratios reversed. Takes one back to 2003 when all the Iraqi WMD lies were being spread. While Ukraine is being slowly destroyed munitions manufacturing corporations are making out like bandits. Former UN Chief Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter, who countered the Bush\Chaney WMD lies in 2003, gives a counter view that comes across as much more truthful. to me anyhow. Search for him on the YouTube to be enlightened. 2 1

I don't agree, the Ukrainians are now well-equipped, well-trained, have much better intel and more motivated Russia is now relying on more and more 6 weeks in training conscripts, digging out old tanks and no control of the skies, they are getting their butts kicked, no doubt about it. Yes they may have gained some ground, flattened towns and cities but wait till the spring and summer when all this new western equipment rolls to the front 5

"The FSB's reported calculation of almost 110,000 casualties by February is still far lower than numbers this week in previously leaked US documents, which estimated Russian losses at between 189,500 and 223,000 casualties, with 35,500-43,000 men killed in action. Russia's most recent official figure dates back to September last year, when the deaths of 5,937 servicemen were confirmed." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-65260672 4

Purdey
Not sure who is right in the flip flopping arguments on AN today. However, Russia was defeated by raggedy yet determined cave dwellers in Afghanistan using American weapons so their chances appear slim. 1

Popular Post pelagicpete
where an invading Army is locked in battle abroad, there are inherent logistical weaknesses and in this case, a lack of well trained forces. One of the biggest advantages that Ukraine has is that it is fighting on its own land FOR it own survival with shorter and safer logistical supply lines. It is almost impossible to beat that kind of motivation and advantage. Ukraine can also repair most of the damaged military equipment and send it back to the front. Russia cannot do that. And Russian supply lines are vulnerable. Not to mention the technical advantages of the drones 'eye in the sky' that has proved itself. 3 1
