I used an air fryer a lot till I got a small convection oven. I can't tell the difference as I use it like an air fryer- no oil. Chips do fine in it too.

I had a small deep fryer many years ago and it was rubbish.

I clicked on the link and can't see anything of relevance to air fryers- just a load of pictures of different things.

Acrylamide forms when frying starches and sugars. The reaction will occur above 120 C, irrespective of whether the food is cooked in a conventional oven, or an air fryer.

I only cook pork, chicken, beef and fish in my air fryer. Protein and fat by themselves cannot generate acrylamide. I use a meat thermometer to get timing and temperature right.

The advantages of an air fryer are being compact, mobile, easy to clean, and using about 50% of the electricity a conventional oven does.

Indeed. If we listened to all these 'experts', we'd want to die sooner anyway.

We are in Thailand!

Yes, one item that hasn't gone crazy in price, still 35-39/kg.

Tried to get 7-11 CheeseCake, out as usually, though had the other varieties,  Which are just sweet tooth satisfiers, and little 'cheese' in them.

Although, the one, a blueberry cheescake 'swirl' isn't bad at all.   But not the blueberry topped, or other offerings.

So spud prices have only ever gone up in price everywhere else in the world except Thailand.  Interesting that,  I don't know how they do it.   Amazing Thailand.

It's because there wasn't much demand for potatoes in Asia 10 years back, so imported and expensive. Now its more popular the economies of scale come into effect, and they grow locally.

Agree the oil used as important as how cooked,  If you weighed the oil before/after, you'd realize you don't use that much, if at proper temp when started.

yeah that's great KhunLA ... but look you need to rub some cream on those hands, probably a bit of moisturizer, and get those damn fingernails cut while your at it ..  and where's your other hand ?
